Today begins Emmy® nomination round voting, and I’m overjoyed to be on the ballot for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for my work as Elizabeth Prescott in Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat.

Elizabeth is a character who exudes warmth while relentlessly pursuing profit. I loved playing a villain with gravitas, humanity, complexity, and just enough charm to make you wonder whose side she’s really on.😎

Taking on this role on a show like this was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my career.

Every moment was executed in one take. No safety net. No do-overs. Just pure trust, craft, and collaboration with the most extraordinary cast and crew all bringing their A-game.

Thank you to @leeheyhey and @sweetbabygene for creating this brilliant world, and to @szyjake @nicholashatton @toddls @christopherkula and @theanthonyking for guiding us so expertly (and with so much joy) through the ultimate high-wire act without a net.

In 1994, I drove from Chicago to Los Angeles in my Chevy Beretta, arriving five days before the Northridge earthquake.

Three years later, my father (and my biggest supporter) passed away.

The last three words he left on my answering machine were:

“Keep going, Sunshine.”

Those words became my mantra.

They carried me through the uncertainty, the setbacks, the near misses, the victories, and every chapter in between.

So Dad....thank you. I know you’d be proud.

Resilience, dedication and following my heart were always the key.🙏❤️😍

I also hope this moment in my own career helps someone else to…

Playing Elizabeth on a high-stakes show like this has been one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my career. It’s been a high-wire balancing act of comedy, pressure, stunts, special effects, gravitas, and humanity… all executed in one take.

One of the unexpected gifts of this entire Jury Duty Presents Company Retreat experience has been getting to know Anthony Norman (after Elizabeth Prescott stormed out because, yes, they were “really going to listen to the temp.”).

Since that day, Anthony and I have connected “parent to parent” and end up talking about our sons almost every time we see each other.

Anthony is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. He lights up every room he enters, always asks about others, and makes everyone around him feel seen.

So grateful for you, Anthony. You are a bright light in this world, and we’re all better for knowing you. ❤️ @anthony_norman
