How To Find Your Happy Place…More Often

Waiting for something to happen in your career for you to feel happy?

As an actor, I know it’s easy to make your happiness depend on

  • how often you’re booking a job.
  • how many lines you have once you book the job.
  • how many scenes you have once you book the job.
  • how nice your trailer is once you book the job.
  • if the director was nice to you while you’re shooting the job.
  • if you’ll ever be returning to the job for future episodes or get rehired.
  • if your agent is getting you in for other jobs
  • if you book a series.
  • if you book a series on Netflix.
  • if you book a series on Netflix that gets nominated for an Emmy.
  • if you get nominated for an Emmy.
  • if you win an Emmy.
  • if you’re in a film that goes to Sundance or Cannes.
  • if that film gets nominated for an Academy Award.
  • if you end up nominated for an Academy Award.
  • if you win an Academy Award

and on and on and on….

Well guess what happens when you allow that long list to dictate your happiness?

  1. You give all your power away.
  2. You use external achievements as an excuse to not accept yourself right now.
  3. You live life backwards.
  4. The things on this list seem to elude you.
  5. Happiness never comes.

Really take that in….

Don’t wait for some external achievement to happen for you to choose happiness + self-acceptance. Choose it now + watch what happens.

When you use chasing the next thing, goal or award to find happiness + self-acceptance, you are actually setting yourself up for an unhappy life.

Because odds are, when you get the “thing” you thought would make you happy, it doesn’t last.

You’re always gonna want more. (And that’s okay.)

So, how DO you find your happy place…more often?

Ultimately, what really dictates our happiness is our level of self-acceptance…in this moment.

So, what if, beginning today, you made a morning practice of radical self-acceptance about where you are and who you are, no matter what you have or haven’t achieved yet in your career?

Instead of checking Facebook (+ going down a black hole of despair first thing in the morning), you can take your power back in under 15 minutes by practicing radical self-acceptance and unlocking new levels of happiness + joy.

Whether you use the tools I create to help actors or get there on your own, here’s to a month of finding your happy place.

Right here. Right now. (No matter what you’ve experienced so far on that long list.)

Leave a comment below + let me know what rituals you use to practice radical self-acceptance.

Go enjoy the day.

Love + Gratitude,
Wendy

Hey, I’m Wendy!

With over 20 years in the spotlight as a professional actress, and behind the scenes mentoring high-achieving creatives, I’ve created a proven approach that’s now transformed thousands of lives and careers.
Every program, meditation, and mentorship experience is the result of decades spent testing and refining the exact methods that helped me build a successful acting career, a global coaching business and an abundance, fulfilling life.

What began as personal practices to overcome self-doubt, bounce back from rejection, and thrive in a competitive industry has become a global ripple effect.

Today, my work has now empowered more than 25,000 creatives in 25+ countries to rise, realign with what matters, and reinvent what’s possible.  Many say these transformative tools and practical teachings were the missing piece of the puzzle, where mindset meets momentum, and success finally feels soulful.
