It’s been a bright, shiny couple of weeks sharing Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat with the world.
From the red carpet to national press to being featured on The Today Show, I’ve been celebrating so many incredible moments…

But today, I wanted to share something deeper. The part you don’t see. This poured out of me last night, and I wanted to share it with you…
The Part You Don’t See
It’s been a bright shiny couple of weeksSharing the joy of Company Retreat. From the red carpet to Variety’s “Critics Pick”,I wanted to give you a sneak peek.
We’ve been featured in the Hollywood Reporter & Rolling Stone…Our cast pictures in Deadline, too,A fun segment on The Today Show,So many dreams younger me wished were coming true.
This show has been a labor of loveand a secret we’ve all had to keep. For a year and a half, 100+ peopleCouldn’t make even a peep.
And now we’re shouting it from the rooftopsBecause we’re proud of the work you now see,The care, the precision, the commitment and all it tookTo turn this vision into a reality.
And at the center of it all…is Anthony, our unsuspecting temp in a brand-new city. His light shines so bright, through the day and the nightReminding us to lead with compassion and empathy.
But here’s the part you may not see When you scroll my posts these days, You don’t see the years of training. The tears. The rejection. The delays.
This role began with one single self tape,On a hot June day in 2024,Where I laid down a one minute improv sceneAnd left it all on my garage floor.
I had just come back from a weeklong meditation retreat,Funny to say that word right now,But I was present and finding joy in the moment,And when people ask how I booked it….That’s how.
I wasn’t trying to get the job,I wasn’t trying to “prove” or “be picked.”I was just bringing this role to life in my own wayAnd letting go of the outcome of it.
So if you’re scrolling the internet,And happen to land here with me.Let this be your reminder:Good things are coming…just not how you think they’ll be.
They don’t arrive through forcingOr striving endlessly…They arrive in the letting go…Because that’s when you start to feel free.
And it’s that freedom you are seeking. It’s what those hiring you want to see, tooWhere your work actually feels like playThat’s really all you have to do.
So don’t try to “get the job,”That’s not what the character wants anyway.Bring the story to life with your unique voiceThen let it go and be on your way.
I had submitted that self tapeOn that hot June day,Then went to pick up my kidsAt Junior Lifeguards near the bay.
And now looking back,I can see how all the “No’s” were guiding me to this. The twists, the turns, the “you’re not quite rights”And all the shots I thought I’d missed.
They all led me to this momentGetting cast in this brilliant show and allWhere performing under pressure was the daily ask,Where it all felt like one giant trust fall.
And lately I see a running theme. As I look back from the “second mountain” nowThat letting go and trusting yourself is keyAnd you don’t have to know “the how,”
That the quiet times are important tooThey build resilience, trust and inner strength. And you’re going to need all threeIf you’re on this creative warrior path for any length.
But don’t allow your mind to run wild…And negatively narrate your day.Circumstances can change in an instant.Let feeling good first lead the way.
It was just before getting this roleThat I had made a new kind of peace within myselfFeeling proud of who I had becomeNot looking for bookings or awards on a shelf.
Because when you stop seeking outside of youWhat is already yours from the start,You see yourself in a whole new lightAnd share your gifts with your whole heart.
And if that means you have to step away from this business,
And quiet your mind for a beat…Then take the time, and know it’s part of the journeyAnd honestly, it’s exactly how I landed Company Retreat.
And if you’re reading this and wondering how to actually do this…how to stay grounded, trust yourself, and show up at your best when it matters most…
These are the exact tools I’ve spent years living, refining, and teaching to creatives around the world. It’s about who you become… and the practices that support you along the way.
If you want to begin experiencing this work for yourself, I created a short guided meditation to help you align with your future and step into it now.

And if this resonated, I’d truly love to hear where you are in your journey.

Love + Gratitude,
Wendy

I truly needed to hear this right now. Not hearing back on auditions lately has been affecting me a lot more than normal. You are an inspiration! After taking a break I’ve jumped back into your meditations and they are so insightful!
Emma! So glad this spoke to you. I know what it’s like to do great work and not hear back. It’s such a mental game, and you have everything you need! So glad my tools and teachings are helping you to #KeepGoingSunshine. You got this!
This is Beautiful, Wendy. Just like you…inside and out. Few people, share and express their journey with such a touchingly sincere thoughtful relatable clarity for others to grab hold of, take in and breathe out seeing the bright shining lights always out there radiating warmth and positivity.💗🌸💗🌸
Thanks so much Roberta! That is so sweet. I so appreciate it. And so glad it resonates with you. xoxo
Wendy thank you for share this message today.
loved watching the first 3 episodes of this and I saw the part with the trust falls they did in one the episodes and you describing it here as well and it made me think of how many time myself done that and similar things in different settings, not just when I was a creative actor. There can always be a bit of fear and yes sometimes you do fall and not get caught. however you become a lot more courageous to get back up and keep trying by allowing the experience. Thank you for sharing this today with us all.
You are so welcome John! And yes, isn’t life one big trust fall? Glad you’re in my community. I have your back as you GO FOR IT!
