There are moments in your career where everything feels… heightened.
The stakes are higher.
The pressure is real.
And you know…this moment matters.
Recently, I found myself in one of those moments…
the kind you’ve been preparing for through a hundred smaller ones.
What you don’t see from this clip… is everything done in the quiet times that made it possible.
Walking into a major opportunity, surrounded by incredible talent, knowing I had to show up fully. Not just prepared, but present, grounded, and confident.
And if you’re an actor working on your self-tapes and looking to book more roles, this may shift how you think about performance under pressure.
Because what struck me most wasn’t the pressure itself…
It was this:
The version of you that is required to show up in those moments… is not created in the moment.
It’s practiced. It’s embodied. It’s trained.
Because here’s the truth most people don’t talk about:
It’s not about being talented enough.
It’s not about “wanting it” badly enough.
And it’s definitely not about pushing harder. It’s about who you are being.
When I look back at what allowed me to walk into that experience with confidence and clarity…
It wasn’t something I suddenly turned on.
It was the result of doing the inner work…consistently. And especially when no one was watching.
Learning how to (and practicing)…
Shift out of self-doubt quickly
Ground myself in the present moment
Trust my instincts
Stay connected to my worth (regardless of the outcome)
Because when you’re in a high-stakes situation…
Your nervous system will default to what it knows.
So the question becomes: What have you trained yourself to return to… when it matters most?
Start by asking yourself this:
When pressure hits, where does your mind go first…fear or focus?
And what would it look like to consciously train a different response?
This is exactly what allowed me not only to book the role, but to rise to the level the opportunity required.
And I share this so you, too, can see how
even during a “slow period,” it IS possible
to go from a self-tape to starring in a series.
I’m a living example of this, and I love pulling back the curtain and sharing the my best insights with you.
Especially after being immersed in an environment like Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, where there are no second takes… and you can’t mess up. It’s the kind of performance where everything depends on you staying present, focused, committed and delivering under pressure in real time.
The good news?
These aren’t traits you’re born with. They’re responses you train.
And that’s exactly what I’ve been committed to teaching for the past decade.
Because whether it’s an audition, a meeting, a performance, or stepping into the next level of your life…
The external moment doesn’t determine your success.
Your internal state does.
If you’ve ever felt like:
You know you’re capable of more, but something holds you back.
You prepare, but don’t always perform the way you know you can.
You get in your head at the exact moment you want to be fully present.
You’re not alone. And more importantly: you can change that.
Performing under pressure is a skill. And you can master it.
I just put together a free masterclass where I walk you through how to shift into this level of confidence, clarity, and performance….consistently.
Because the actors who book next level work aren’t just talented, they’re trained to perform at their best when it matters most (without second-guessing their every move).
Inside this immersive training, I break down:
- The exact shift that takes you from “prepared” to booking-level performance
- How to reset your focus in seconds even when your mind starts spiraling
- The repeatable framework I use to stand out in every audition, self-tape and live callback.
And I reveal the exact preparation process that’s helped me book roles on Grey’s Anatomy, This Is Us, and now a starring role in Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat… all from self-tapes.
And it’s not about having the perfect background, the perfect acting coach or some elaborate movie-quality filming and editing.
It goes deeper than that, and it’s actually far less stressful once you understand it. Amen!

Because the goal isn’t just to get the opportunity…
It’s to become the version of you who’s ready for it when it arrives.
And that’s something you can start building right now (that I happen to love teaching).
👉 If you’re ready to step into your next level, watch the free masterclass here.
I’ll see you on the inside.
With love and gratitude,
Wendy ☀️
